Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler, will be leaving the island next Monday, September 19, to attend a series of meetings in Washington D.C.??

The first will be the Commonwealth Finance Ministers Meeting, slated for Wednesday, September 21.?? It is expected to bring together finance ministers and senior officials from the 54 Commonwealth nations.

The meetings will be at the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Headquarters and take place during the annual conference of the World Bank Group and the IMF.

During the sessions, the finance ministers will address the key contemporary challenges affecting the membership, in light of the uncertain global economic and financial outlook.

While there, he will also meet with representatives of the two ratings agencies – Standard and Poors and Moody’s Investors Services as well as the Inter-American Development Bank to discuss any issues emanating from the bank-funded projects.

He returns to the island on Friday, September 30.
