Minister of Sports, Stephen Lashley??

Sports will take the spotlight over the next few days, when the Fourth Pan American Sports Convention is held from tomorrow, Tuesday, May 4 to 8, in Mexico.

Minister of Sports, Stephen Lashley, left the island today to represent Barbados at the meeting, which will bring together ministers with responsibility for sports from the Pan American zone.

The officials are expected to share ideas and experiences with the Olympic authorities in an effort to define the actions to be jointly undertaken by the National Olympic Committees and the respective governments, so as to promote sports and Olympic education in their countries. The assembly will also present opportunities for National Olympic Committees to secure funding for various programmes.

This conference is important to Barbados, especially since it is developing its sports tourism product.
