The Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs wishes to congratulate Elizabeth Riley on her appointment to the post of Executive Director, Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), from July 1, 2021.

Ms. Riley, a Disaster Management Specialist, is the second Barbadian national to hold this position, and brings a wealth of experience to CDEMA, having served previously as Deputy Executive Director and more recently as Acting Executive Director, from May 1, 2020.

Her leadership of CDEMA during these challenging times is testimony of the high standards for which she is known not only in Barbados, but throughout the Caribbean.

The Ministry has a longstanding relationship with CDEMA, given the location of its headquarters in Barbados.  We are assured that with Ms. Riley at the helm, CDEMA will continue to provide exemplary service to the people of the region.

We wish her every success during her tenure.
