The Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs (MPEA), which is responsible for ecclesiastical affairs, has embarked on an initiative aimed at providing Barbadians with spiritual support during the “national pause”.

Acknowledging the challenges resulting from the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, the MPEA, through its Clergy Committee, has organised a “Faith Corner”, which will see various faith leaders supporting the island through prayer and uplifting messages.

These prayers/messages will be aired daily via traditional media and the social media platforms of the Barbados Government Information Service.

The sessions are intended to comfort and provide hope to persons across the island. Meanwhile, Barbadians are being encouraged to join the Clergy Committee at noon on Sunday, February 7, during a “Pause for Prayer” segment, as it engages in a spiritually uplifting session, broadcast nationally.
