The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment continues to fulfill its mandate to assist the youth of the nation.

This morning books, bags and school uniforms, among other items, were donated to the students of the Arthur Smith Primary School, at Pleasant Hall Land, St. Matthias, Christ Church.

Minister Charles Griffith addressed the students and staff of the school, noting the collaborative effort of the private sector and the society in general to aid the students and school.

Mr. Griffith told the students: “It is up to you to treat them [the gifts] with respect, and understand that it’s an opportunity to help you, in terms of your studies, … and your preparations going forward.”

He also thanked the staff of the Ministry, and in particular, Youth Commissioner Melissa Forde, who was instrumental in organising the donations and bringing the private sector onboard to assist.
