In an effort to promote the importance of developing skills in reading and writing, the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development will host a Literacy Fair early next month.

The event is themed "Literacy Empowerment" and is being organised to commemorate International Literacy Day, which will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 8. It will be held on that date in Queen’s Park from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Students from public and private nursery, primary and secondary schools across the island are expected to attend the fair, which will feature book stalls, an expanded careers showcase, story-telling, drama, and a teacher’s and children’s corner.?? Persons will also be shown how to read and understand in any subject area.

Members of the public are also invited.
