One hundred and twenty transport service operators will soon have the opportunity to receive training, to improve their competitiveness in the sector and the quality of service offered to their clients.

Slated to begin in June, the eight-module Passenger Transport Service Operator Training Programme, coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism and facilitated by the Barbados Community College (BCC), will be open to both independent operators and companies.?? It will be held on Mondays and Thursdays, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sundays, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

It will see operators exposed to a range of themes including: History and Geography of Barbados (inclusive of the knowledge and culture of Barbados as a tourist destination, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); Quality Customer Service (with a focus on transporting of passengers with disabilities, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); Effective Communication; Foreign Language Skills (to extend basic courtesies in a minimum of three foreign languages, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘, NULL, NULL, 0); and Business Management.

Those who complete this pilot programme will be certified upon completion of the three-month course.
