Child Month was made a bit more special today when representatives of the Ministry of Tourism made a donation to the Grantley Prescod Primary School in the Pine, St. Michael.

Speaking at this morning’s hall assembly, Tourism Development Officer, Shanise Taylor, explained that the Ministry always sought to reach out to its neighbours and was pleased that the contribution of food items and books could be made.

"Annually, the staff of the Ministry of Tourism donates food items to the HIV Food Bank.?? This month, to coincide with one of our NISE initiatives, we want to focus on children within our closer community and so, we have chosen this school.?? It is our goal to continue this initiative on a quarterly basis…"

Administrative Officer at the Ministry, Pamela Payne, offered words of wisdom to the students, and encouraged them to embrace guidance from their teachers and make use of the opportunities they had today. The school’s Headmistress, Marline Abrams, thanked the Ministry for its donation and asked the students to always strive for success.
