On December 10, 2010 the Ministry of Tourism, in association with the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, officially launched Barbados’ newest tourism attraction, Freedom Footprints: The Barbados Story Trail and Tour.
During the ensuing months of January to April 2011, the new tourism product was tested in the marketplace and Barbadians and visitors alike were able to experience first-hand, aspects of this island’s rich and unique heritage and culture, handed down as a result of the Transatlantic slave trade and the slavery experience of the?? 17th to the 19th Centuries.??
The Ministry of Tourism and the Barbados Museum and Historical Society have informed Barbadians, as well as visitors to the island, that the pilot phase of Freedom Footprints: The Barbados Story has been concluded. They have extended their sincere thanks for the overwhelming support given to the project during its pilot testing phase.??
The project is now in its transitional phase and details of its full implementation will be communicated as soon as they become available.
