The Ministry of Transport Works and Maintenance (MTWM) is seeking feedback through an online social survey on the potential effects on commuters and surrounding neighbourhoods from the proposed improvements to 10 primary and secondary connector roads, in six parishes.

Persons may participate in the online survey, which is available until Sunday, July 5, by clicking here. They should provide only one survey response per road project.

In addition, the consultant, Mahy Ridley Hazzard, will host a series of online neighbourhood focus groups with volunteers from communities and businesses within the proposed road improvement areas.

Persons who wish to participate in these online focus groups may call 262-4392, or email rmoe@mahyridleyhazzard.com, and provide their contact information.

The consultant will also conduct a limited number of face-to-face community surveys within the vicinity of the road improvements, between June 18 and July 5.

All physical distancing protocols will be observed in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ guidelines. Those persons who wish to participate in the face-to-face surveys are asked to call 262-4392, or email rmoe@mahyridleyhazzard.com, and submit their contact information.

The road works project, being undertaken by the MWTM to improve road surfaces for the safe and easy movement of vehicular traffic in selected locations where roadways have deteriorated significantly, falls under the IDB/Government of Barbados-funded Road Rehabilitation and Improving Connectivity of Infrastructure Project.
