The Ministry of Creative Economy, Culture and Sports received a donation from Protect Caribbean, a local company which manufactures face masks and other personal protective equipment, earlier this week.

Minister John King, who received the equipment, thanked Directors of Protect Caribbean, Alex Weekes and Elise August, for their donation, which he described as “functional masks which are also comfortable”.

According to Ms. August, all of the masks they make include the N95 filter, which has proven most effective in the protection against COVID-19.

In congratulating them, Minister King stated that “this is exactly what the creative economy is all about, coming up with creative solutions and finding ways to monetize them”.

Protect Caribbean donated a total of 50 masks and 10 face shields to the Ministry.
