Retired educators will have their ‘moment in time’ this Sunday, October 26, when the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development hosts the ‘Retired Educators Awards’ ceremony at Hilton Barbados.

The event will see the Ministry paying tribute to those who have made significant contributions to education in Barbados. According to Education Officer, Colin Cumberbatch, 65 persons will receive awards. He added that five of them will be granted posthumously.

Explaining that the selection process involved more than 500 educators, Mr. Cumberbatch added: “We recognise the value of their contribution… and believe their efforts should be highlighted during Education Month.
