Parents, teachers and principals preparing pupils for the 2019 Barbados Secondary School Entrance Examination (BSSEE) are invited to a series of Town Hall meetings aimed at sensitizing them on the various steps involved in the administration of the examination.

The meetings, which will be held from November 2018 to January 2019, are an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training. Representatives from the Ministry will instruct persons on how to fill out the several forms used in the BSSEE, including those for choice of school, deferral and special requests.

The first sessions will be held on Saturday, November 17 at The Church of God of Prophecy, Water Street, Christ Church, (located behind the Milton Lynch Primary School); Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Phillip; and Roland Edwards Primary School, Battaleys, St. Peter.

They will continue on Wednesday, November 21, at Sharon Primary School, Sharon, St. Thomas; Cuthbert Moore Primary School, St. Helens, St. George; and George Lamming Primary School, Flint Hall, St. Michael.

On Saturday, November 24, the informative sessions will be conducted at St. John Primary School, Glebe, St. John; St. Joseph Primary School, Horse Hill, St. Joseph; and St. Silas Primary School, Orange Hill, St. James.

In December, St. Bartholomew Primary School, Parish Land, Christ Church; Blackman and Gollop Primary School, Staple Grove, Christ Church; and Eden Lodge Primary School, Eden Lodge, St. Michael, will be the venues for the town hall meetings being held on Wednesday, December 5.

These will be followed by meetings on Saturday, December 8, at Mount Tabor Primary School, Mount Tabor, St. John; A. Dacosta Edwards Primary School, Belleplaine, St. Andrew; and Daryll Jordan Secondary School, Trents, St. Lucy.

On Wednesday, December 12, the venues will be Bay Primary School, Bayville, St. Michael; St. George Primary School, Walkers, St. George; and West Terrace Primary School, West Terrace, St. James.

The Ministry will hold more town hall meetings on Saturday, December 15, at Gordon Walters Primary School, St. Patrick’s, Christ Church; St. Martin’s-Mangrove Primary School, St. Martin’s, St. Philip; and Wesley Hall Junior School, King Street, Bridgetown.

The final meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at The St. Michael School, Martindales Road, St. Michael. All of the meetings begin at 5:00 p.m.
