Occupational safety and health sensitisation will take priority for the remainder of the year, then the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and with the Occupational Safety and Health section of the Labour Department, launch a 100-day campaign which will culminate with the proclamation of the Safety and Health at Work (SHaW) Act.??
Minister of Labour and Social Security, Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, will officially launch the campaign on Friday, September 21, with a press conference in the Lecture Theatre, 1st Floor, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.
Designed to familiarise the public with the SHaW Act, the outreach activities and initiatives aim to increase employers and employees’ attention to safety and health practices and systems in addition to creating safer and healthier work environments on the island.??
