The first cohort of Mom-Preneurs from the Hands Extended Reaching Out (HERO) Mom-Preneurship Programme will get an opportunity to showcase their products and services at this weekend’s HERO Market Day.

The event, which is being hosted by the HERO Charity under the patronage of Minister of Labour, Social Security and Human Resource Development, Senator Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo, will take place on Saturday, December 10, at the Ellerton playing field, St. George, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This initiative is also being held in collaboration with the Community Development Department and is supported by programme partners the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC), Ellerton Wesleyan Holiness Church, and the St Luke’s Anglican Church. It is being funded by the Human Resource Development Strategy Unit.

During the all-day showcase, members of the public, entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners will be invited to participate in a variety of sessions.

These include a flower arranging demonstration with President of the St. Luke’s Anglican Church Flower Guild, Sylvia Brathwaite; a food health and safety session with Chief Environmental Health Officer, Maurice Gaskin; as well as a local film show and discussion featuring representative from the Barbados Film and Video Association, Leann Parris.

These sessions will take place at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., respectively. Jumping tents and face painting will also be available for younger patrons.

Registration for stall spaces and Market Day sessions is free of charge. For more information on the registration process, persons are asked to contact Jennifer Holder at 834-0904.
