Government will be tabling a number of money resolutions, when the House of Assembly meets tomorrow, Tuesday, November 16.

Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler, will move a Resolution to approve the guarantee for the payment of the principal sum of $58.1 million and interest due to be borrowed by the Barbados Conference Services Limited from the Bank of Nova Scotia. This money will be used to finance a construction project that will include a commercial office building, a multi-storey car park and upgraded kitchen facilities at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre and to pay value added tax associated with this project.

Meanwhile, government is expected to table a motion to approve a supplementary vote for some $37 million to fund rehabilitation efforts following damage to the housing stock after the passage of Tropical Storm Tomas on October 30.??clashley@barbados.gov.bb
