The Barbados Immigration Department has increased the number of daily appointments available to the public.

There will now be 84 available interview time slots per day for persons applying for the Barbados passport. This is in an effort to improve on the current system of appointments, and to better serve the public.

Applicants who scheduled appointments for later in the year, but may require an earlier date, are welcomed to return to the Immigration Department’s website and select an earlier appointment date.

However, the appointment only system remains in effect for passports and the various categories of immigration status and immigration services.  Persons are required to visit the website to set those appointments.

The Chief Immigration Officer also advises customers who require the urgent issue of a passport to call 535-4150 or 832-4102.

The public is reminded that walk-ins would not be accommodated as the Immigration Department seeks to follow the existing health protocols, and urges all customers to adhere to the appointment system.

Visitors to the office will be required to follow all COVID-19 protocols, such as temperature checks, sanitising of hands on arrival, the wearing of masks while conducting business, and maintaining social distancing.
