The National Housing Corporation (NHC) and the Ministry of Housing and Lands will launch another 20 units at Tweedside Road, The City, next week Tuesday.??

This follows yesterday???s launch of 16 duplex units at Airlie Heights, Cave Hill, St. Michael.??

While delivering the feature address, at the launch Minister of Housing and Lands, Michael Lashley, also revealed that Country Park Towers was scheduled to be completed by May 2010.?? The Minister also added that for the current financial year 2009-2010, the Corporation had identified five other areas where 103 units will be constructed.??

???And hopefully when we return to Parliament … some four resolutions will be brought…?? vesting lands that the Ministry of Housing and Lands acquired under the Land Acquisition Act within the NHC, so that the Corporation can then convey those lots to first time land owners in Barbados. And those lots are five dollars a square foot,??? he stated.

According to Acting General Manager of the NHC, Lanette Napoleon-Young, the Ministry was seeking to, ???widen the net by providing various types of housing and housing solutions to Barbadians.???

Ms. Napoleon Young took the opportunity to thank the staff of the Corporation for their hard work, outlining that the 16 duplex units at Airlie Heights had been built by NHC staff.??

She also revealed that the team will also shortly move from rolling out a small infilling project at Sayes Court, Christ Church, where work has already been started, to introducing a new land maximisation concept called ???Zero Lot Line??? at Coverley, Phase Two, both in Christ Church.????

The Manager also stated that a project would also be completed in St. Andrew.?? ???The NHC and the Ministry of Housing and Lands are working assiduously on behalf of the public of Barbados… [and] we are not stopping until we satisfy that list,??? she asserted.??
