The Ministry of Health will continue its fogging programme to rid primary schools of the aedes aegypti mosquito that causes dengue fever, on Saturday, October 9 in the parish of St. James, St. Michael and Christ Church.

The Vector Control Unit will undertake the fogging exercise from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m.

Schools to be targeted in St. James are West Terrace Primary, at West Terrace, and Good Shepherd Primary, in Fitts Village. ??Schools in St. Michael include Deacon’s Primary, at Bird’s River, Deacons Road, and Eagle Hall Primary, at Small Land, Bridge Gap. Those in Christ Church are: St. Bartholomews Primary in Parish Land.?? St. Christopher Primary in St. Christopher, Christ Church; Milton Lynch Primary, and Christ Church Girls’ Primary, both in Water Street.

During the fogging exercise persons are asked to assist by opening their windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog, while pedestrians and motorists are encouraged to proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are also advised to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine. jgill@barbados.gov.bb
