There is still space available for parents to register their children who completed this year’s Common Entrance Examination for the annual Project S.O.F.T. (Safeguarding Our Future Today) camp, which runs from Sunday, August 25, to Saturday, August 31.

The one-week camp, now in its 17th year, is hosted by the National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA), and will be held at Naniki Barbados in Suriname, St. Joseph, catering for approximately 40 children.

Persons interested in registering their children are asked to contact Makeada Bourne or Agnetha Roach-Chase at the NCSA at 535-6272, or by emailing ncsa.info@barbados.gov.bb.

In addition, persons who have already registered, and those interested in registering are invited to a meeting at the NCSA’s offices on the Corner of 1st Avenue Belleville and Pine Road, St. Michael, on Saturday, August 17, at 10:00 a.m., where they will have an opportunity to interact with the NCSA’s staff and learn more about the camp and its expectations. This year’s camp will embrace the theme: Transitioning the Family, as officials prepare students and members of the family for the journey into secondary school by discussing the multiple life challenges that will confront them.
