The public is advised that the Ministry of Tourism’s Fully Accessible Barbados: Sign Language Training Workshops, which were postponed last week, will now be held Thursday, August 30 and Friday, August 31; Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28; and Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 10.??
These two-day activities will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the Divi Southwinds Beach Resort, St. Lawrence Main Road, Christ Church.
These workshops seek to sensitise workers in the tourism industry on how to meet the needs of visitors with disabilities and will also teach persons basic sign language skills to facilitate communication with the hearing impaired.
