Members of the public are being encouraged to support an upcoming movie night that will showcase the work of several young Barbadian filmmakers.

For the third consecutive year the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in partnership with the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination (EBCCI), will again host the free movie night as part of the national celebrations for Heritage Month.

The event take place on Saturday, June 6, at the Pelican Craft Centre, Princess Alice Highway, Bridgetown, at 6:00 p.m.

The movie night will promote the use of civic spaces in Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison for cultural purposes, using film as a medium.??While highlighting the link between film and heritage, it is also intended to promote the work of local filmmakers.

This year???s movie night will showcase the work of young filmmakers enrolled in the undergraduate programme at the EBCCI; graduates of the EBCCI; students in the certificate programme in Motion Picture Arts coordinated by the Ministry of Culture and the EBCCI; and students from the communities enrolled in the Digital Media Programme in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The public is encouraged to bring their chairs and blankets when coming to enjoy the work of the young filmmakers.
