The Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs (MPEA) is in the process of developing an online Directory of Social Services.

This initiative is being undertaken to make available to the public an accessible, user-friendly, comprehensive list of social services offered by the Government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), civil society organisations and faith-based organisations.

To facilitate this process, the Ministry has enlisted the service of Intrinsic Data Inc., to conduct interviews with the managers and or directors of programmes, organisations and charities involved in the delivery of social services.

Interviews are currently under way, and will conclude on Thursday, June 30. Participation in this project is voluntary and there is no compensation or cost associated with participating.

Persons who require additional information may contact Coordinator at MPEA, Andrew Pollard, at 535-1624; Research Analyst with the Bureau of Social Policy Research and Planning, Rean Gibson, at 535-1630; Lynda Richards of Intrinsic Data at 571-6641, or Sharina Ifill, at 269-8045.

The Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs is the primary ministry charged with the delivery of social protection in Barbados.
