The Ministry of Housing, Lands and Maintenance has welcomed 97 workers from the Ministry of Transport, Works, and Water Resources’ (MTWW) Building Unit.
In a brief welcoming ceremony today at the Barbados Workers’ Union Headquarters at Solidarity House, Minister Dr. William Duguid, said: “This is the most important work that we can do in the Ministry of Housing. The Ministry has a very ambitious housing programme and a huge maintenance programme…. Many buildings under the Ministry’s purview have to be maintained and kept in good working order.”
He assured them that they would be doing the same work and their terms and conditions would be the same. “We are going to try and find the best places to put each and every one of you, that you’ll be comfortable at this new Ministry,” Dr. Duguid assured.
