Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the Barbados Museum and Historical Society???s upcoming 5K Walk and Run marathon.

The marathon, which takes place on Sunday, March 13, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., is a fundraising event to support the continued efforts of the Museum in the preservation and conservation of Barbados’ rich heritage.

Interested persons may register on the website, or at the Museum???s headquarters at St. Ann???s, Garrison, St. Michael.

The 5k Walk and Run will start at the Barbados Museum, turn left towards the Main Guard, and continue along Bay Street. It will then turn right at the traffic lights and on to Jemmotts Lane.

At the Ena Walters Roundabout, participants will make a right turn on to Collymore Rock, turn right on to Culloden Road, proceed towards Dalkeith and end at the Barbados Museum.

Pre-registration for the event ends on Thursday, March 3, and each registered participant will receive a ‘Heritage Treasures’ t-shirt. Collection dates for t-shirts will be announced at a later date.
