History enthusiasts will have another reference tool at their finger tips come next Monday, December 21, when the Barbados Museum and Historical Society launches its latest Journal.

The event will be held at the Museum’s Headquarters, The Garrison, St. Michael, starting at 10:00 a.m.

The 303-page document is a collection of articles written by noted historians and researchers, including University of the West Indies lecturers Drs. Karl Watson and Aviston Downes; Professor Emeritus, Woodville Marshall; Pat Stafford; Bernard Ince and Wayne Burke.

There is also an article entitled: Our American Lady:The Story of Gertrude Gilbert-Carter and her Contribution to Barbados, written by Miguel Pena, which ??chronicled the life of?? Lady Gilbert Carter, the wife of then??Governor?? General,??Sir??Thomas Gilbert Carter, who unlocked the gates of Queen’s Park with??a golden key, to officially open the venue a century ago.

Director of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, Alissandra Cummins, along with Christopher Maggiolo, Angela Fields and Julia Horrocks are among the other contributors to the Journal.??jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
