All hands on deck!

That???s what will be required to battle the increasing amount of sargassum seaweed presently littering the beaches across the island.

And, officials at the National Conservation Commission (NCC) are appealing to members of community groups, service organisations and the public, to join with them in clearing the weed from the island???s beaches.

A heavy presence from the seaweed is being felt at River Bay, Barclays Park, Bath Beach, Silver Sands, Skeetes Bay, Long Beach and Bathsheba.

Interested persons are advised to contact the NCC???s Acting Assistant General Manager, Mary Fields, at 425-1200, to make arrangements for the clean-ups.

This will allow officials at the NCC to make provisions and render assistance to the groups.
