Barbados??? level of competitiveness will come under the microscope when The Productivity Council hosts a one-day summit on Wednesday, October 23, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The theme of the conference is Looking through the Lens to Barbados 2025: A National Dialogue on Productivity and Competitiveness. It will examine the island???s competitiveness along the four key pillars that underpin this area and productivity – Government Policy, Human Capital Development and Investment, the Business Environment and Resource Efficiency in the context of the Green Economy.

Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler, will deliver the feature address, while Executive Director of The Productivity Council, John Pilgrim, will make a special presentation.

Some of the presenters and panellists will include: President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lalu Vaswani; Senior Fellow with the Caribbean Policy Research Institute, Professor Avinash Persaud; Management Consultant and HR specialist, Dr. Hensley Sobers; President of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association, Patricia Affonso Daas; and UNDP???s Resident Representative for Barbados, Stephen O???Malley.

This meeting is one of several activities being organised this month to celebrate The Council???s 20th anniversary, under the theme, Securing Prosperity Through Productivity.

The Productivity Council is an agency designed to help Barbadian and Caribbean businesses develop their competitiveness, through the application of productivity enhancement solutions.
