Housing and Lands Minister, Michael Lashley????

The Housing Every Last Person (HELP) programme, has so far completed over 200 homes.

This, from Housing and Lands Minister, Michael Lashley, as he delivered the feature address at the opening of The Villages at Coverley housing development in Christ Church, last Saturday.??

Mr. Lashley explained that the National Housing Corporation (NHC) had already completed 40 houses at Four Hill and 17 at French Village, both in St. Peter; 51 at Greens, 33 at Constant in St. George; 44 at Workhall and 30 at Marchfield, both ??in St. Philip.?? Fifty-six units at Country Park Towers, Country Road, and 20 at Tweedside Road, St. Michael will also be handed over in the coming months.

He added:?? "With all things being equal, we can see the possibility of some 3,000 plus housing solutions being made available to Barbadians… We have awarded the contracts for the beginning of infrastructural works at Lancaster 1 and Lancaster 2 in St. James; and Parish Land and River, St. Philip to facilitate the construction of 235 houses by small contractors.?? In addition, to the 70 houses completed at Coverley and the 230 to be handed over by December, we also propose to build 72 rental units at Valerie, Brittons Hill, 80 at Deacons and 104 at Eckstein Village, Tudor Bridge, St. Michael."??

There are also plans to build 1,500 houses in phases at Bushy Park, St. Philip, 200 at Spring Garden, St. Lucy and 72 at West Terrace, St. James. lbayley@barbados.gov.bb????????????????????
