Barbados’ 10 national heroes will be honoured this Sunday at a national church service and walking tour of Bridgetown retracing their lives.

The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be held at the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cathedral, Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael.?? It will be conducted by Monsignor Vincent Blackett and Minister of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth, Stephen Lashley will be in attendance.??

Then, at 3:30 p.m., the Division of Culture of the Ministry of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth will host a free heritage walk beginning in Heroes Square.?? It will be led by author and historian, Morris Greenidge and will visit the Heroes Gallery at Parliament, the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, Jubilee Gardens, St. Michael’s Cathedral, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Heroes Square, James Street Methodist Church and the Charles Duncan O’neal Bridge.

The public is encouraged to participate in the various activities organised to commemorate this year’s Season of Emancipation.??
