Young people aged 18 to 35 will have an opportunity to show off their literacy skills in the National Library Service’s (NLS) Youth Speak Poetry Slam contest, which is scheduled to take place next month.

The competition, in celebration of the Season of Emancipation and the NLS’ 175th Anniversary, will be held in Golden Square Freedom Park, The City, on Thursday, April 14, starting at 6:00 p.m.

The winning entry will receive a cash prize of $1,000, with second and third place winners being awarded $600 and $400, respectively.

The deadline for submission of entries to the competition is Monday, March 28, and interested persons may register by clicking here.  Please note that a Gmail account is required for sign-up.
