Stakeholders from the public and private sectors and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will get an opportunity to find out more about the modernisation of Barbados’ National Procurement System, at a seminar tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30.??

It will take place at the Amaryllis Beach Resort, Hastings, Christ Church, at 9:00 a.m. and will be hosted by the Special Projects Unit of the Ministry of Finance, Investment, Telecommunications and Energy (MFIE), in collaboration with the IDB.??

The seminar will highlight the IDB’s policies and procedures to assist with the successful implementation and execution of the procurement programme.

The goal of the programmme is to improve the effectiveness of the procurement system, reduce process time, save money through competitive prices while ensuring the transparency and integrity of the system.

Permanent Secretary, Special Projects Unit of the MFIE, Ronald Bascombe, will deliver the feature address at tomorrow’s opening ceremony.
