In an effort to educate technocrats about the benefits of adopting uniformity in measurements, testing and standards, the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI), will be hosting a two-day National Quality Infrastructure workshop to explore these issues.

The workshops will be held on Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, at the Savannah Hotel, Hastings, Christ Church, starting at 9:00 a.m., each day.

On Wednesday, BNSI Director, Anthea Ishmael, will outline the pros and cons of the National Quality Infrastructure, while Consultant with HBS Consulting, Hermon Edmondson, will explore the theme: The Quality Strategy: Can We? ??

Meanwhile, on that same day, Executive Officer of the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality (CROSQ), Dr. Vyjayanthi Lopez, will speak on the topic: The Regional Quality Infrastructure – the Role of Barbados.

The following day, the BNSI’s Chief Technical Officers, Fabian Scott and Haydn Rhynd, respectively, will address participants on Standards and Technical Regulations and Metrology & Testing Basis for Improvements. CROSQ’s Giselle Guevera will discuss the issue of Certification and Accreditation.
