A national seminar themed: Standards Build Trust, will be held next Monday, November 7, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Minister of Industry, International Business Commerce and Small Business Development, Donville Inniss, will deliver the opening remarks.

The seminar is being held to celebrate World Standards Day, which took place on October 14, and to coincide with Barbados’ 50th anniversary of Independence.

Hosted by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, the Barbados National Standards Institution, and the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation, it is aimed at enhancing business activity through an improvement in quality.

The session will include an interactive session structured to provide a platform for the exchange of best practices in labelling of pre-packaged goods; offer guidance to overcoming challenges in doing business; and create an opportunity for participants to learn about recent advancements in the industry and to interact with their peers.

It is also expected to develop greater consumer awareness and teach how to improve Barbadian products and services, thus achieving better quality assurance within Barbados.
