All Barbadians, whether home or in the diaspora, will be invited to join this year’s National Service of Thanksgiving, physically or virtually. (FP)

Spearheaded by the Ministry of People Empowerment & Elder Affairs, plans are already underway for a special National Service of Thanksgiving 2021 and every Barbadian, everywhere, will have the opportunity to participate.

Come this November 30, fifty-five years after Independence, Barbados will make the bold first step in its transition from Constitutional Monarchy to Parliamentary Republic.

Part of the celebrations to mark that historic transition will be the national act of thanksgiving for all that we have been so far blessed with and, ultimately, the prospect of long-awaited full sovereignty.

Despite the prevailing pandemic, every effort will be made to ensure that the National Service of Thanksgiving 2021 offers Barbadians, of all walks of life and faith, the opportunity to give thanks and praise, and to do so in a manner fittingly reflecting the significance of the momentous occasion.

As we approach this new chapter in our national development, all Barbadians, whether home or in the diaspora, will be invited to join this National Service of Thanksgiving (physically or virtually) when we celebrate divine guidance, our resilience as a people and our appreciation for vision, unity and religious inclusiveness.
