Minister of Youth, Stephen Lashley (FP)??

Sheraton Mall will be a hive of activity on Sunday, June 20, when the National Youth Forum is launched there.

A number of young people and stakeholders are expected to gather at the Christ Church venue from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. for the "spectacular" multi-media launch. It will showcase some talented Barbadian youth, including entertainers, while there will be messages from outstanding young people who have excelled in their field.

The theme of the launch is "Working Together to Honour and Empower our Youth".

At a press conference over the weekend to discuss the launch of the Forum, Minister of Youth, Stephen Lashley, pointed out that the theme had been carefully chosen to remind all that "it takes a village, a group of stakeholders, to raise a child and help adolescents to successfully transition to confident, socially aware, productive, responsible and happy adults".

Mr. Lashley asserted that "we can only achieve this if we honour and respect our youth and provide the opportunities for them to realise their enormous potential".

For further information on the launch, persons may visit http://www.nationalyouthforum.org/; the Forum’s Facebook page; e-mail info@nationalyouthforum.org or call the National Youth Forum Help Desk at 430-2813. The desk is located at the Ministry of Youth, Family and Sport, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.
