The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth is encouraging young persons to participate in its National Youth Survey (NYS), which will take place from June 27 to August 5.

The survey seeks to gather information that will strengthen the work of the Ministry and other youth stakeholders who are engaged in providing the structural reforms needed to improve the conditions of young people across the island.

It is expected that that NYS will lead to better informed and designed policies, improved targeting, allocation of resources and investments in young people.

It will also capture data on the perceptions, aspirations, values, concerns, support networks and developmental challenges experienced by persons between the ages of 16 and 29.

Also included will be data on several areas that affect the island???s youth population, including the socioeconomic status of respondents, religious affiliation, occupational status, disabilities, social group affiliation, and youth crime and violence.??Youth Commissioners from the Ministry???s Division of Youth, who will be wearing identification badges, will be conducting the survey.
