Fitness enthusiasts, school children, community groups, and Barbadians of all ages are being urged to come out and support?? the Natural?? Heritage Department’s?? ???De Heart?? Uh Barbados’?? Race and Walk Series which gets under way next week, as part of this year’s?? Environment Month celebrations.

The Junior Run, a new event targetting both primary and secondary school students, will start next Thursday, June 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Natural Heritage Department’s grounds at Sturges, St. Thomas.

The race for primary school students under 11 years old will be just under 2 kilometres, while the one for secondary school students will be almost 5 kilometres.

The Junior Run will kick off from the Natural Heritage grounds and go through Allen View, Sturges, Carringtons Village, Vault Road, Welchman Hall and back to the Natural Heritage Department.

Team, individual, as well as age-group prizes, will be awarded for this event.

Meanwhile, the 10 kilometre run and 5 kilometre walk, will take place on Saturday, June 20, beginning at 6:00 a.m. and 6:15 a.m., respectively. There will be prizes for males and females, as well as special community awards for both events.

The deadline for registration is next Tuesday, June 16, and registration?? forms may be obtained from: Surfside??
