Barbadians are asked to walk with their chairs and come out on Saturday, December 19, between 5:00 and 11:00 p.m. for the National Conservation Commission’s (NCC) Nature’s Christmas Cheer event. It will be held at the front of the Commission’s Garden Centre at Waterford, St. Michael.

The event will feature live entertainment from the Royal Barbados Police Force Band, which will perform from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The band will be followed by entertainer Jamal Slocombe, from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.; the Mighty Grynner at 8:30 p.m.; and Biggie Irie from 9:00 p.m.  

The artistes will sing tracks powered by DJ Daddy Biggz. Gerald B. Sounds will also host a Christmas karaoke lime session from 9:30 to 11:00 p.m. Additionally, there will be a presentation to the Red Foundation at 8:15 p.m.

Visitors will also be treated to a unique shopping experience at the NCC’s Garden Centre, which will open on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. They will be able to shop for all of their plants.  

There will be a 20 per cent discount on selected plants, and eats and drinks will be on sale. The NCC will also use the event to assist vulnerable families who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

To this end, no admission will be charged. However, persons will be asked to donate a non-perishable food item or a toy. The toys and hampers will be presented to founder of Red Foundation, Stedson “Red Plastic Bag” Wiltshire, who will receive the items on behalf of the Foundation.
