The Lions Club of Bridgetown will soon receive an injection of funds from the National Conservation Commission (NCC) to support community work with the elderly, youth and disabled in Barbados.

The NCC will make the presentation to the Lions Club this Friday, October 17, at 9:30 a.m. at its Codrington House Headquarters, St. Michael. This donation represents part of the proceeds from the Commission’s recently-held Arbor Day Expo raffle.   In addition, the winner of the raffle, Ms. Ivy Jeffers, will receive an Arbor bench and swing.

The Arbor Day Expo was held last month to promote the importance of trees through a practical and interactive demonstration, that highlighted the role of the NCC and the many products and services utilised on a daily basis, which are derivatives of trees.
