Local artists and cultural entrepreneurs who wish to expand their enterprises and learn more about the business aspect of the cultural industry will have a unique opportunity to do so next month.

That is when the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) hosts a two-day symposium, entitled "Taking Your Art to Market", from Friday, April 9, to Saturday, April 10, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, starting at 9:00 a.m. each day.

Among the topics to be discussed are "Strategic Planning for your Business"; "The Role of Culture in Dance Education"; "Packaging yourself for the Market"; "Copyright in Photography"; "How to Finance Your Art Enterprise"; "Recording Engineering"; "Making it in Music"; and "Extending the Possibilities: Exploiting Intellectual Property."

Registration forms are available at the NCF, West Terrace, St. James and the Queen’s Park Gallery, Bridgetown, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and should be returned no later than Friday, March 26, 2010.
