One government department wants young people to put pen to paper, and share their thoughts on the future of technology.

The National Council for Science and Technology (NCST), in collaboration with the Information Society of Barbados (ISB), has invited senior students in secondary schools, ages 14 to 18, to participate in an essay competition entitled: The Impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on Barbados in the year 2020.??

Submissions must be between 1000 and 1500 words, with 1.5 line spacing.?? Each entry must have a cover sheet, with the participant’s age and school.?? Essays must reach the offices of the NCST, Reef Road, Fontabelle, St. Michael, no later than March 29.

Prizes for successful entrants will be an Apple iPad, a Nintendo Wii and Amazon Kindle for first, second and third place, respectively.
