The National Council for Science and Technology (NCST) is hosting a workshop on intellectual property, to educate the public about ways of protecting the originality of their investment.??

The one-day seminar entitled: Protecting your Investment Throughout the Innovation and Commercialisation Cycle, will be held on Saturday, November 21, at the Bagnall’s Point Gallery, Pelican Craft Centre, Princess Alice Highway, St. Michael from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

According to the NCST’s Senior Technical Officer, Charles Cyrus, the workshop is designed to highlight various aspects of intellectual property issues throughout the innovation and profit-making process of the business.

"The bringing into existence of different products or service invariably involves the creation of intellectual property. Thus, it is therefore important that individuals, who are using innovation for business creation, be exposed to various aspects of intellectual property," he explained.

Mr. Cyrus further stated: "They must be aware of what it is, how it can be protected and how they can use it to their benefit."

Further information on the session may be obtained by calling Charles Cyrus, at telephone number 427-5270.
