The Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), recently received vital pieces of equipment to assist in nursing sick babies back to health.

Barbados’ Honorary Counsel to Montreal, Dr Myrna Lashley, and her husband Dr Michael Davies, a Pediatrician, and Director of Home Ventilators, a children’s hospital in Montreal, presented ventilators to Consultant Neonatologist Dr Gillian Birchwood.

Dr. Lashley, in handing over the ventilators, said she was pleased to make the donation to the unit, and gave an undertaking to provide more equipment to the QEH in the future.

Dr. Birchwood thanked the couple for the gift to the paediatric department and noted: “the NICU is a technologically dependent area and we welcome the donation.”
