A new date has been set for the recently postponed ???Labour Legislation and Industrial Relations Best Practice‘ employer seminar. It will now be held on Thursday, November 10, in the Main Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael.
The seminar, which is hosted by the Labour Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 1:00 p.m.???? It will be conducted by Labour Officer, Yvette Walcott-Dennis.
Several pieces of legislation will be examined including ??the Protection of Wages Act, Holiday with Pay Act, Employment of Women (Maternity) Act and the Shops Act.
Ms. Walcott-Dennis stated that the exercise is part of her department’s outreach programme to develop greater efficiency in the workplace and help employers gain a better understanding of employment best practices and labour legislation.??
