Sunday, April 1, is the new date for the second Annual National Small Business Awards 2006 ceremony.  This was disclosed today by Minister of Commerce, Consumer Affairs and Business Development, Senator Lynette Eastmond, during a press conference at the Cave Hill School of Business, Cave Hill, St. Michael.

“The new deadline for submission of applications will now be Friday, March 16, no later than 4:30 p.m. at the Ministry’s office, Reef Road, St. Michael,” she said.

The Minister noted that the response to the awards was very good and some small businesses had asked for more time to complete their applications.

“They have said to us that they require a bit more time and the Business Development Unit at the Ministry is going to use its best efforts to make sure that it assists with the completion of the application forms.

If there is any other small business out there that is thinking that it would like to participate, but doesn’t really know where to start, the members of the Business Development Unit of the Ministry of Commerce will readily accommodate and assist you with the process,” she said.
