Roof removal for two buildings at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Enmore facility is slated for Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22.

Part of the works will involve the removal of asbestos sheets from the two structures. This exercise will be carried out between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on both days. The public is advised to avoid that worksite during this time.

A qualified Environmental Protection Department (EPD) contractor will remove the environmentally sensitive materials from the buildings and will erect a barrier to isolate the work areas. Only authorised personnel will be able to access the worksite.

The removal of the asbestos and its transportation to the dump at Rock Hall, St. Thomas will be done under the supervision of officers from the EPD.
