The new 37 acre Adams Castle Estate is poised to breathe new life into the construction sector and provide job opportunities for some artisans.

Housing Minister, Michael Lashley, who made this disclosure yesterday afternoon at the official launch of the estate at Sheraton Park, Christ Church, said that a "project of this scale would bring a much needed boost to the construction sector and provide opportunities for budding entrepreneurs in the area."

He added that with the development of the estate … benefits would not be limited to only the persons who would find employment on site but would be dispersed throughout the various stages of the community.

Stating that Government had vigorously pursued its programme of Housing Every Last Person (HELP), with the full support of the private sector, the Minister noted that to "undertake this venture during these challenging economic times showed deep commitment to the continued growth and development of Barbados, as well as confidence in the Government."

Meanwhile, Director of Adams Castle Development Inc. Elias Haloute, in his brief

remarks, said the estate would be offering 104 Lots of land between 6700 square feet and 22,000 square feet, ranging in price from $160,000 to $500,000.

Outlining the amenities being offered, Mr. Haloute explained his company would be delivering electricity, water, natural gas, Telebarbados phone and internet services, as well as video services, all through the underground ducts.?? He also revealed that comprehensive street lighting would be installed to ensure that street and common areas were well lit and safe.

"We have a prime real estate development in very close proximity to the island’s major commercial centres, recreational facilities, and popular nightspots, all in a secure environment with ultramodern features.?? There is no other development on the island which provides this mix and at such a reasonable price," he declared.??
