Barbados now has an Honorary Consul for Poland.

Local businessman, Michael Armstrong, was presented with the Exequatur today, granting him the power to function as Honorary Consul, by Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Phillip St. Hill.

Mr. Armstrong was also given the Commission of Appointment from the Government in Poland.

During the handover, which took place at the Ministry???s Culloden Road headquarters, the Chief of Protocol congratulated Mr. Armstrong and noted that his appointment signified the beginning of stronger ties between Barbados and Poland. He added that the connection should be beneficial for both countries.

The Honorary Consul stated that he was grateful for the opportunity to serve in such a capacity, and noted that he intended to focus on developing links between the two countries in the areas of trade, tourism, culture and education.??Barbados and Poland established diplomatic relations in 1996.
