The new Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) local representative Joel Branski, received a warm welcome to Barbados during a recent courtesy call on Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler.

During the meeting at Government Headquarters on Bay Street, St. Michael, the IDB official was brought up- to-date on the progress of several of its projects that were currently ongoing.

Mr. Sinckler underscored the importance of the relationship with the IDB to the future development of the island and added: "I am happy and committed to working with the bank on various projects that would enhance the nation."

Likewise, Mr. Branski praised the existing relationship with the Barbados government and gave the assurance that the bank stood ready to assist with staffing and other technical issues that would "smoothen out the bottlenecks that prevented the successful execution of projects".
